查尔斯·达尔文（Charles Darwin，1809-1882）
　　英国博物学家，生物进化论奠基人。1859年，他在《物种起源》著作中提出“生物进化论”学说，即生物进化是渐变的过程，生物通过遗传、变异和生存斗争的自然选择而进化、发展。他开创了生物学研究的新时代。
