The Agricultural Library of CAAS is the largest of its kind in Asia .

Databases and information on crop germplasm , soil and fertilizers, pests and natural enemies , and those facilitating commodity and market analysis.

Chinese crop germplasm research information system (CGRIS) is a central data base containing a wide range information on crop genetic resources information . It mainly consists of six sub-database : 1) crop characterization and evaluatin database ; 2) the management database of the national crop gene-bank ; 3) the national duplicate gene-bank in Qinghai ; 4) the management database of national germplasm research nursery ; 5) the databases for germplasm exchange at home and abroad ; 6) the management database of the mediumterm storage .

The CGRIS was established in 1988 . At present , there are over 1,000 megabytes on 160 kinds of crops ( including food crops , fiber plants , oil crops . vegetables , fruit trees , tea , mulberry , tobacco , sugar , pasture and green manure crops , topical crops , etc.) 350,000 accessions of germplasm are stored in the CGRIS . The electronic map system , chromosome and fingerprinting automatic recognizing system , pedigree tracing system and statistical analysis software for crop germplasm resources have been established .

Information Network Center that networks major agricultural reseach institutions both at China and abroad.
