Introduction
 The
Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS) was established in
1957.Different from provincial agricultural research institutes ,CAAS
is China's national agricultural research organization ,directly affiliated
to the Ministry of Agriculture.

of programs and projects undertaken by CAAS from the 6th five-year plan
to the 9th five-year plan .
CAAS has formal agreements on invigorating agriculture by application
of science and technology with the Governments of Guizhou Province , Tanghe
County of Henan Province and a number of other cities .
l About 50 CAAS scientists have served as Deputy Governors of local counties
on a secondment basis during the past 5years in Guizhou and Tanghe .
